Cox-Ware Funeral Home, formerly Cox Funeral Home, was founded by Mr. E. W. Cox in 1927. In 1931 Cox Funeral Home was moved to a boarding house on West St. where we are in business today. Through the years, the Cox family served Decatur County and the surrounding areas with loyalty and pride.

In 1993 after the 1989 death of Mr. Walter Cox, Ronnie Cox handed the day to day operations of the funeral home over to a corporate owned group to insure the lasting legacy of quality funeral service in the event of his own death.

In 2000, Allen Ware took over the funeral home as Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, and in May of 2008 had the opportunity to partner into the funeral home, making Cox-Ware Funeral Home once again locally owned and operated.
