Graveside services for Mrs. Frances Spears, age 89 of Attapulgus, will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Attapulgus Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
Visitation will be immediately following the service. Mrs. Spears passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Gaskins, AL the daughter of James "Jim" and Allie Lee McCormick Bane. She moved to Decatur County from Darlington FL in 1949. She was married to Jeff Spears who preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Spears was a member of the Attapulgus Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters Elsie S. Brown of Attapulgus, GA, Jeanette S. Norris and husband George P. of Bainbridge, Doris Spears Gay and husband T.J. of Attapulgus and Carol Nelson and husband Dan of Climax; two sons James Richard Spears and wife Cindy of Bainbridge and Jeffery Spears of Attapulgus; fourteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter Jimmie Lee Spears Moncrief.
