Carolyn Yvonne Scott was born February 22, 1939 in Albany, Georgia. Her parents, James Louie Scott and Maude Estelle Josey Scott, have preceded her in death. Very early in her life, her dad started calling her “Lady Bug”. That, over time, was shortened to Bug. In the early ‘60s Carolyn and her young family moved to California. She loved visiting Knox Berry Farms for every special occasion. Later, she moved back to Bainbridge to be closer to her family. She opened an establishment named Carol’s Place, that she operated for many years. Bug loved music and was a great dancer. She enjoyed gatherings and loved to have people around her. She liked to cook for holidays and spent years mastering her mother’s dressing. After losing Carol’s Place to a fire, Bug returned to school and became a C.N.A. She loved working at Memorial Manor. She retired from there but missed the work and joined the staff at Willow Ridge Personal Care Home. Carolyn’s heart was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Carolyn (Bug) will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Carolyn (Bug) Y. Valencia is survived by her children, Tammy Matzke of Calhoun, Georgia, Anthony Valencia (Elaine Hooks) of Bainbridge, Gregory Valencia (Michelle) of Marietta, Georgia; siblings, Shirley Labor of Monroe, Louisiana, Jerry Scott of Brunswick, Georgia, Stevie Scott of Bainbridge, Diane King of Jacksonville, Florida, Judy Wynn of Bainbridge, Tony Scott of Bainbridge, and Brenda McCullough of Quincy, Florida; and grandchildren, Daniel Garcia, Theresa Garcia, Timothy Matzke, Hunter Valencia, Payton Valencia, Piper Valencia, Aiden Valencia, Sierra Whitmore, and Ashley Stephens.
