I’m sorry to loose another member of our class at MHS 63. Roger and I also sang together at First Baptist. He was lucky to have such a wonderful family. He will be missed.

When Roger was a 5th-grader in elementary school in Martinsville, Va., I was the "new kid" in his classroom. He surprised me one day and invited me to spend the night at his house on Minor Street. He made me feel welcome and his mother was kind and very attentive to us. That cemented a great friendship through high school graduation in 1963. I haven't seen him since, but communicated with him via email. I regret this because Roger always held a special place in my heart. We never forget our childhood friends. Like Mr. Rogers on TV used to say, "I like you just the way you are." And I liked Roger just the way he was, too.
