Charlotte Frances Knight

April 12, 1917 - April 19, 2016

Mrs. Frances Butler Knight, age 99, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Knight will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2016, at West Bainbridge Baptist Church. Rev. Jamie McMillan will officiate. An interment will follow in West Bainbridge Cemetery. Randy Weathersby, David Tharpe, Ronnie Starling, Jule Powell, Bruce Butler, and Joe Butler will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Charlotte Frances Butler was born April 12, 1917 in Chattahoochee, Florida, to James Henry Butler and Onie Lou Sellers Butler. She married the love of her life, Marcus (Mack) M. Knight in 1933. They were married 69 years before his death in 2002. Mrs. Knight worked at Economy Cleaners for around 25 years before she purchased the business. She retired from Economy in 1980. Frances Knight was a faithful member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church. She was a great homemaker. Frances loved to go outside and "sweep" her yard. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Frances Knight will be sorely missed by her family and the many, many friends she loved so much. Frances Knight is survived by her daughter, Gail Powell; grandchildren, Greg Powell, Ricky J. Powell, Mike Knight, Chrys Overstreet, Terry Knight, and Renee Smith; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 great- great grandchildren, and her brother, Jack Butler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marcus (Mack) M. Knight, brother, Loyce Butler, sister, Lillian Pierce, son Jerry Knight, and grandchildren, Robert Allen Knight and Rhonda West.
