Dorothy Brock

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Lee Lewis Brock, 84, of Fernandina Beach, FL will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Messer, Rev. David Grubbs, and Rev. Sam Southerland officiating. Burial will follow Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 12:00 PM at Jones Cemetery in Callahan, FL. Visitation will be held Monday, February 16, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Brock was born March 18, 1924 in Ochlocknee, GA to the now late Thomas L. and Bessie Mae Benton Lewis. She lived in Bainbridge for 12 years, Thomasville, GA for 6 years, and the Jacksonville, FL and Callahan, FL areas for 35 years. She was of the Protestant Faith but attended the First Church of the Nazarene when in Bainbridge. She was a seamstress at Jack Winter's for eleven years and loved gospel music, fishing, and to crochet and sew. Mrs. Brock passed away February 14, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. She is survived by two daughters; Jane (Husband Bobby) Grubbs of Eldorendo, GA, and Patricia C. (Husband Jack) Love of Fernandina Beach, FL; one son; Lee Allen Cutts of Barwick, GA; one sister; Marie Porterfield of Ft. Meade, FL; one brother; J.D. Lewis of Thomasville, GA; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Brock was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Cecil H. Cutts and James A. Brock Jr, brother, Howard Lewis, sisters, Lucille Richardson, Eunice Edwards, Blanche Brinson, Agnes Sharber, and Jewell Searcy.
