Funeral services for Opal Lourene Townsend Robinson, 84, of Climax, GA will be held Tuesday , August 24, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Maranatha Baptist Church in Climax, GA with Rev. Scott Lord officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, GA with Emree Robinson, Richard Robinson, Wilbur Robinson, Gary Hill, Billy Moore, and Heath Hutto serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held Monday August 24, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cox -Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Robinson was born October 27, 1925 in Beverly, OH to the now late Grover K. Townsend and Bertha Mae Morris Townsend. She moved to Decatur County in 1986 from Florida. She was married to the now late Rufus Hill Robinson. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and the Senior Sunday School Class. She enjoyed and loved her Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, reading, loved to garden, and had a green thumb. She loved to travel, and her family called Mrs. Robinson a gypsy. Mrs. Robinson passed away at her residence in Climax, GA Saturday, August 21, 2010. She is survived by one son, Frank Hill of Vero Beach, FL; one daughter, Dixie (husband Billy) Hutto of Climax, GA; three sisters, Bessie Olive Skinner of Beverly, OH, Goldie Brothers of Connellsville, OH, and Jeanette Garvin of Rivera, MD; one brother, Grover Junior Townsend of Caldwell, OH; Four Grandchildren; Holly Lynn Hill, Gary Hill, Michael Hill, and Sylena Moore; and Three Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Hill Robinson, two sons; Gary Hill and Steve Hill; one sister, Rita Kaye Townsend; and one brother, Morris Townsend. Cox - Ware Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
