Memorial Services for Mr. Robert Alday, 53, of Oxford, GA, formerly of Cairo, GA will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 2:30 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Alday was born June 19, 1956 in Bainbridge, GA to the now late WIlliam Bill Alday and Joyce McNair Thompson. He graduated from Cairo High School in 1974 where he had played football and had a life long love of football. He was a fan of the Atlanta Falcons. Mr. Alday enjoyed fishing and camping. Shortly after graduation, he relocated to North Georgia to pursue his career as a carpenter in both commercial and residential construction. Mr. Alday was residing in Oxford, GA at the time of his death. He passed away December 18, 2009 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta after fighting a battle with lung cancer. In lieu of flowers the family has requested all donations in Mr. Alday's memory to be made to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA for their outstanding care and comfort. Mr. Alday is survived by two brothers; Kenneth (wife Jennie) Alday of Macon, GA and Jeffery Alday of Jersey, GA; three nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents.
