Mr. William (Bill) F. Johnson, age 72, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away at his home early on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. Kim Whitehead will officiate. Brad Johnson, Craig Pollock, Charlie Haywood, George Mavris, Jeremy Robinson, Chad Matthews, Cory Taylor, David Richardson, and Jayce Rylee will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Beulah Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Cadwell Chapel. William (Bill) F. Johnson was born in Plant City, Florida to William Lucas Johnson and Ruth D. Dollar Johnson. He married Sandra Maxine Maxwell. He and Maxine have been married 52 years. Bill worked as a lathe operator at Elbert Crate and Box Company for over 42 years. He loved to work with his hands. Bill was a hard worker and good provider. He had a heart of gold. He was generous and loving. During the days of C.B.s, he was a member of the React C.B. Club. His C.B. handle was Frog Hunter. He enjoyed going frog gigging and cooking them for everyone's enjoyment. Bill loved to watch wrestling on television. He was liked by everyone and mentored anyone who needed guidance. A loving family man, Bill Johnson will be missed by a large family and many, many friends. Bill Johnson is survived by his wife, Maxine Johnson; children, Sandra D. Pollock and husband, Craig, Deborah A. Haywood and husband, Charlie, and William B. Johnson, all of Bainbridge; sister, Barbara Elaine Tomlinson of Whigham, Georgia; grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Matthews (Chad), Ashlee D. Pollock, Victoria Taylor (Cory), Kristin Robinson, (Jeremy), and Robyn Anne Johnson; great-grandchildren, Dawson Ross Taylor, Madison Trawick, Jayce Olen Rylee, Keighlynn Reese Rylee, Alayna Nicole McLendon, Haven Rayne Taylor, and Stetson Rhett Matthews; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Cook and Dale Barry; brother-in-law, A. B. Maxwell; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenneth Wayne Johnson, and sister, Alma Jean Gwaltney. Memorial donations in Bill' s honor may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
